ARKit, which was introduced in June during another Apple event, allows developers and designers to upload AR-based apps for iPhone. The Machines was introduced today at iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X launch event claiming to be the world first competitive multiplayer augmented reality game.
Atli Mar Sveinsson, CEO of Directive Games who introduced the game played a demo with his colleague to show that iPhone able to create a battlefield on a flat plain surface. The Machines has two factions – the rebels and the dominators squaring off in battle onscreen
If you have noticed in the video, the volume grows louder when the phone is closed to the battleground. The Machines doesn’t have a release date currently, but with ARKit set to go live with iOS 11, more information should be coming soon.
